Carl is responsible for development project management, design management, financial feasibility analysis and entitlement coordination for clients. Cleverly Development Consulting provides development services ranging from site identification, market research, feasibility studies, due diligence research, environmental remediation support and value engineering analysis throughout all phases of development.

Carl’s previous experience includes working in residential leasing and property management for Essex Property Trust. As well as extensive experience in his family’s real estate development and management firm, Vander Hoek Corporation. While at Vander Hoek Corporation Carl oversaw all aspects of the project from design and permitting to partner and contract negotiations to financial analysis for the 350-unit mixed use multifamily development known as Venn at Main located at the corner of Main Street and Bellevue Way NE.
 

Carl earned his Bachelor Degrees from University of Washington in both Communication and Social Science. He has served as treasurer and board member of the Old Bellevue Merchants Association. He also serves on the Visit Bellevue Washington Advisory Committee and Bellevue Downtown Association Land Use Committee. He is a member of the Bellevue Rotary Club and enjoys giving back to the community volunteering in many ways. He is also a member of NAIOP.
